Great Black and White Photos This photo caught my eye just because of the general area. I see buildings, I smell the really cold air, I hear traffic, I feel a sad vibe. I think this picture has a lot more understanding then I am getting. This photo also caught my eye because of the intensity of the guy drawing. I see a man drawing, I smell paper, I hear the brush hitting the paper, I feel a intense vibe. This photo has a lot of interesting things to it.
Africa and Abandoned Theme Park 1. My reaction to what I read on the website was that I thought he made the animals look majestic. I also saw that most of Nick Brandt pictures are black and white pictures of animals. The black and white added to the impact you feel when looking at them. He mostly pictured animals in Africa like elephants, cheetahs, some sort of monkeys, and rhinos. 2. 3. This picture caught my eye. I like this picture cause of the elephant head shape. His temples are supremely curved in showing his wisdom. Also he is drinking and thought that its cool that he/she is snorting water. 4. I think the no mergers rule is implied in this photo. Also it could be simplicity cause the elephant is in the dead center of the photo and blocking anything more interesting in the background. 5. He uses Pentax 67 to take his pictures. Photo M anipulation And Ethics What are some of the main points you read about in the website regarding manipulating images? On the website some of the main points was they would change the way people would look at the picture. also the way the person or thing in the picture. Some examples of what they do is change the way a model looks or flaws that they have and make it look better. Also they could do this to a view of something like a football field or a stadium or etc. What is the philosophy of newspapers like the Washington Post and the New York Times regarding image manipulation? they put photos on the front of the paper to attract the people. So they manipulate the photo to make it more interesting. After its more interesting they put it for sale and people buy it because it looks interesting to them. Greatest white and black photographers This white and black photo was took by Berenice Abbott. I think it is a very nice picture because of the black and the white and the way the buildings are its nice. Berenice Abbot was born in Springfield, Ohio on the 17th of July in 1898 and died on the 9th of December in 1991. Berenice got his education from Ohio State University and the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere. This photo was took by Roy Decarava. This picture is a interesting picture because it shows a dark person painting or drawing. Also it looks nice so i wanted to post it. Roy was born in Harlem, New York on December 9th 1919 and Died 2009 on October 27th. Roy got his education from The Cooper Union, Hunter College, and Bayard Rustin Educational Campus. Filling The Frame A picture Filling the frame is a good description of this photo. Because there's nothing in the picture that doesn't have you looking at and wondering whats past the edges of the photo. It's also a interesting photo in general because of the skulls in the guys helmets and them zapping something. It's a nice photo and it's filling the frame.
ACTION OR EMOITION This a picture of a person with fire coming up and out of the person's hands. Then forming a brain or a mushroom. All the action is in the picture because the person is holding fire and the fire is forming in the air. Action is the definition of the picture, also the lighting and scenery in this photo makes it look more cool for the person and to look at it.
THE STORY I think that this is a a big story because the teacher is teaching the students. Then the students take their knowledge that they learn from that class and they become successful. Also the teacher would get most of the credit for their success as a scientist or a doctor or etc. The Teacher knows that he helped them get their achievement and he is proud that he gets teach so many people that become successful. There's the story from this picture and it's a good one.
First Prompt Photos I think this is a good way of taking a good simplicity photo. Because there is nothing going on in the background all you want to look at is the mouse.
